Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT)
Pain Reprocessing Therapy is an evidence-based approach designed to help people reduce or recover from chronic pain by retraining the brain’s response to pain signals. Research shows that in many chronic pain conditions, the brain can become “stuck” in a pain loop even after the body has healed. PRT helps individuals understand that their pain, while very real, may be driven by neural pathways rather than ongoing tissue damage.
Through education, mindfulness, and gentle exposure to movement and sensation, clients learn to reinterpret pain as a safe signal rather than a danger cue. This shift helps calm the nervous system and build new neural pathways associated with safety and comfort. Many people find that as their fear of pain decreases, their physical symptoms significantly improve. This approach is useful for a variety of chronic symptoms, not just pain.

Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy (EAET)
Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy focuses on identifying, understanding, and expressing emotions—especially those that may have been suppressed or avoided due to stress, trauma, or life experiences. EAET is based on research showing that unprocessed emotions can contribute to physical symptoms, tension, and chronic pain.
In therapy, clients learn to become more aware of their true feelings, connect them to life events, and express them in healthy, adaptive ways. This process can help reduce emotional distress, release physical tension, and promote overall well-being. EAET empowers individuals to live more authentically, with greater emotional connection and less pain.
Together, PRT and EAET offer a compassionate, neuroscience-informed path to healing—addressing both the mind and body to restore balance, safety, and resilience.
